Staley Tennis held its winter sessions once again at the Mast Family Facility. In addition to our Advance Junior Drills we run each year, we also launched the inaugural High School Skills Builder Course. This new course is for beginning tennis players who are heading into high school tennis. This prep class is held in the winter for girls and in the summer for boys (preceding their high school tennis seasons). We keep the class sizes at a minimum 4-8 players per class to maximize repetitions and to provide better individual instruction.
Here is our inaugural H. S. Skills Builder girls class of 2019…

These girls did a fantastic job throughout the course. It was a real treat to watch their growth from week-to-week. Maybe a future #1 player in this group? Could very well be!
Staley Tennis also hosted an 8-week private group lesson for 4 student-athletes from Central Noble High School. I’ve enjoyed working with this group—great kids, we had fun sessions and hit a lot of balls. A lot of potential here and I wish them the best of luck as Jadyn and Sarah head into their high school season next week!

Special thanks to Galen Mast for allowing the academy to run its winter operations at his facility!
Next week the transition into spring outdoor tennis begins. Most of my time will be spent coaching high school girls tennis, but will also be opening up private lessons for academy boys. Looking forward to some warmer weather!
