USTA winter tournament schedule is in full swing. This past weekend, Kendra Doerr returned to play in the Wildwood Racquet Club Winter Open and won her first round match 6-1, 6-2 against a tough Michigan 18-and-under Rylie Bruton.
Doerr, who will be entering her senior year at Wawasee High School in Syracuse, IN, is the returning #1 singles player for her high school team and 3-year captain. She is also an all-conference soccer player.
Kendra is currently the #1 overall junior player at Staley Tennis Academy and is in her second year playing in USTA tournaments.
She will be attending Indiana University next fall.
