How is the academy structured for players?
Our summer academy is unique as it’s a summer-long activity. Think of it like a flexible camp from June 1st-July 31st (the academy will not schedule activities the week of the July 4th). Academy students will get access to the coach weekly for one-on-one private sessions to focus exclusively on each players’ skill needs. Weekly hour-long private lessons will be scheduled for each player during academy hours, structured to fit each family’s schedule.
Families will be given a weekly itinerary of events taking place for academy students. This will include (but not be limited to) conditioning sessions, special clinics, group drills, hitting sessions, free play and competitive events (practice sets and tournaments) with other academy members. There will also be family activities like free play times, outdoor ping pong duals and on-court cornhole/bag-toss events. All these events will be optional to attend but encouraged.
Academy members will be grouped with similar age and skill levels.
- 18 & under (advanced/intermediate/beginner)
- 14 & under (advanced/intermediate/beginner)
What level of players will be selected for the academy?
From beginners to advanced. We’re looking for junior players and families who want to enjoy a life sport and are committed to growing players’ skills.
Is the academy restricted to a certain school district?
No, it’s open to anyone from the ages 12-18 to apply. We do recommend you live within a reasonable driving distance from the academy in order to travel back and forth to events as we do not offer boarding.
How many hours of activities are scheduled throughout the summer?
Each player will receive 8 hours on court, one-on-one with a professional coach. In addition there will be 5-10 hours of optional activities scheduled for each group per week (a total of 40-80 hours per summer).
Is it possible to get more one-on-one time with the coach?
If time allows, there will be signups offered to all academy members to purchase additional private lessons at a reduced cost.
How does the selection process work for players?
This depends on the number of applications we receive. In order to make sure our focus remains on quality time on court for each academy member, we limit all optional activities to a maximum of 8 on court at any time (for drills and clinics). Of course, scheduled competition will be limited to singles or doubles on court.
What is the cost?
If a player’s application is accepted, the cost will be $500 per player. This is a one-time charge which includes all academy event access for the entire summer.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer a 7-month plan ($75 per month). Credit card required for recurring charge. First payment due first week of June.
