Congratulations to Pierson Wellington and Isaac Stahly who are this year’s championship team in our summer Fast4 League! Both incoming freshmen at Goshen High School, Pi and Isaac teamed up to finish the season in a 3-way tie for first place. As the #1 seed, they advanced to the championship which was played as a night match on Thursday, July 30, 2020 under the lights at the North Webster academy training courts.

The championship match versus Dare Doubles (Holden Babb & Cooper LeCount) was the closest recorded match ever in Fast4 League play. The Slice Girls overcame a 2+ point handicap to edge Dare Doubles by the score of 47-46.
Head to head scores for the championship…at #1 singles Pierson Wellington pulled out a 3rd set tiebreaker over Holden Babb 4-2, 1-4, 1-0 (5-2). At #2 singles, Isaac Stahly took down Cooper LeCount in straight sets 4-1, 4-3 (5-4).
The doubles match set up the drama due to the points handicap allowing Dare Doubles a chance. It came down to the scenario of the team that won the second set ultimately took the championship. And the second and final set went down to a tiebreak. Final doubles score was 4-2, 4-3 (5-2) in favor of Slice Girls.
