This week we begin our annual partnership with the Lakeland Youth Center as we host their summer tennis camp. We want to thank all the families for signing up for this wonderful camp allowing us to teach the life-sport of tennis to area youths.
USPTA professional coach and trainer Shane Staley has once again organized this camp. He will be bringing more than 40 drills to this summer’s camp, some of which are unique to his academy along with others from his education through the USPTA, Net Generation and Coach Youth Tennis seminars and workshops.
This is a unique two-week camp, the only time of the year Coach Staley works with 10-and-under players throughout the year.
We are still in need of a few academy volunteers to help out during the following days and times:
- Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 4-6PM
- Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 4-6PM
- Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 4-6PM
- Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 4-6 PM
- Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 4-6 PM
- Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4-6 PM
This camp will be held at Wawasee High School tennis courts.
The volunteer positions are for academy players and families only. We are offering $10 per hour of credit towards academy training, camps, private lessons, group drills and classes for volunteer’s time in running stations. We will apply this to any current open invoices or toward future services.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us ASAP. We will assign positions as soon as we receive the camp rosters from the LYC.
