Heading toward mid-April 2020 and we are all limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are not without opportunities to get better at home. As we wait to get back on the courts for training, here is an exercise all players can do at home. You simply need a ball, a racquet and wall.
This challenge was issued by Roger Federer last Tuesday on his Twitter account.
Academy players are encouraged to compete against one another in this challenge. Simply upload your best video to your virtual coaching space to compete.
A few rules:
- Regulation yellow ball (or equivalent) should be used.
- No more than 2 feet away from any wall.
Good luck. And if you’re on Twitter, follow Roger and post your video in reply to his above and maybe you’ll get a comment.
Also a reminder to all academy players: during this time it’s easy to relax and get lazy. When we get back on the courts, the players who make the best use of this time will likely leapfrog over others who aren’t staying active in the game.
I’ve shared many things over the past week through your virtual coaching spaces to do at home. Let’s stay active and pursuing our goals and growth!
