This past week Staley Tennis opened up for applications for its 2020 training academy which will run from April 15-October 15. A maximum of 16 players will be accepted into next year’s full academy. The first two included, Kiah Farrington (Pierceton, IN) and Joseph Harper (Warsaw, IN), have both signed one-year personal coaching contracts with Coach Shane Staley back in August.

Farrington, a fourteen-year-old freshman at Wawasee High School, will be headed into her first year in high school tennis this spring for the Lady Warriors. She is currently ranked 19th overall in USTA girls 14U standings in the Northern Indiana district. She is Staley Tennis Club’s 2018 Challenger Series champion. She has been involved with the academy and club for two years.

Harper is a twelve-year-old seventh grader from Milford School. He is currently the 6th-ranked player in USTA Northern Indiana district’s boys 12U. He is the 2019 Challenger Series champion and has been with the academy and club since its inception in 2017. With 166 points, he was runner-up in the fall Weekend Warrior Series.
Staley Tennis will be accepting applications for 12 of the remaining spots in its 2020 academy until 12/31/19 at 11:59PM EST. For more information, please visit the official academy page.
