This was one of our busiest weeks of the summer for competitive events. Our Challenger Series entered week 3, our Fast4 League week 2 and the Verified UTR match play event, Sunday Showdown #1, is now also in the books. Here’s a quick recap.

Six matches were played this week in our Challenger Series…
June 20th
- Kelsey Harper defeated Lily Crighton 8-2
- Kaitlin Graber defeated Jack Gibbons 8-7
June 21st
- Joey Harper defeated Ashley Larson 8-3
- Zeke Keim defeated Clayton Firestone 8-2
- Nathan Harper defeated Katelyn Vetor 8-2
- Nathan Perek defeated Joe Bowsher 8-3

On Saturday, four teams competed in our Fast4 League.
Double Trouble Hands Poachers 2nd Straight Loss
Poachers were without last year’s Challenger Series champion Kiah Farrington for the second-straight week as they fell short. Double Trouble’s Jack Gibbons and Sarah Merriman both won their singles matches to clinch the win on Saturday. Holden Babb and Jack Gibbons made it a sweep by winning a tightly-contested doubles match against Kelsey Harper and Rylee Firestone.
In an exhibition match, Clayton Firestone defeated Sarah Merriman is straight sets.
Topspinners Take Fast4 Lead
Now 2-0, the Topspinners are now atop the Fast4 league with a 2-1 team win against Net Assets Saturday. Topspinners won both singles matches. #1 Joe Bowsher defeated Clayton Firestone 4-2, 4-1 and Nathan Harper faced off against his brother, Joey Harper, winning 4-0, 4-0.
In doubles action, Net Assets (Clayton Firestone & Joey Harper) came out on top 4-3, 4-2 to avoid getting swept.

On Sunday, 10 players took part in Staley Tennis’s first-ever Sunday Showdown. This was a verified UTR event and here are the posted results…
