2020 UTR Weekend Warrior Series Announced

Completes dates for our club’s 2020 Weekend Warrior Series have been posted. Beginning next spring, all events will be held at Wawasee High School courts in Syracuse, IN.

All events will be sanctioned UTR events and count toward players’ verified UTRs. Registration cost for each event has been set at $15. Academy players who are club members and have UTR Power subscriptions will be able to register for only $5 per event. We also credit academy tuition $50 for players who maintain a UTR Power Subscription. Power subscriptions are available from UTR for $99 annually. Important Note: Academy and club players can get a discount on an annual UTR Power Subscription. Contact us for a special link to join. Which means that a club player with a UTR Power Subscription could take part in all 20 events in 2020 for only $100 total (and save $200 on registration costs)!

The 2020 Weekend Warrior Series will have three championship seasons:

• Spring (starts 4/18 and ends on 5/24)
• Summer (starts 6/6 and ends on 8/2)
• Fall (starts 9/12 and ends on 10/24)

Multiple events will take place during each season. Players may sign up for selected weekends or can sign up to play in all weekend events scheduled.

Points will be given to each player in the series in the following manner:

Tournament Events:

• 1 pt. for each match played
• 1 pt. for each game won
• 10 pts. for each match won (main draw)
• 5 pts. for each match won (back draw)

Round Robin Events:

• 1 pt. for each match played
• 1 pt. for each game won
• 10 pts. for each match won

***Third-set tiebreakers are considered 1 game.

Series Season Awards: At the end of each season, the player with the most points accumulated throughout the entire season series will be the 2020 seasonal Weekend Warrior Champion and will receive a championship glass award, media coverage and, of course, bragging rights!

1. Join UTR. It’s free! Already have a UTR account? Simply login.
2. Self rate or claim your profile. If you’ve never played in a sanctioned USTA or UTR league or tournament, you’ll need to create a profile and self-rate yourself to get started. If you’ve played in a league or tournament, then more than likely your profile exists and you can simply claim it.
